Google is striking a partnership to combine its artificial intelligence language models with software from startup Replit Inc. that helps computer programmers write code, a bid to compete with a similar product from Microsoft Corp.’s GitHub and OpenAI.

First Citizens BancShares’ deal includes the purchase of about $72 billion of the bank’s loans and other assets at a discount of $16.5 billion and $56 billion worth of the bank’s deposits. Approximately $90 billion in securities and other assets still remain in the receivership.
It turns out that if you have an active customer audience invested in the long-term viability and success of your platform, you can crowdfund a venture-sized extension round. Substack has collected more than $5 million in pledges for an extension to its Series B from its community and the internet at large.
